An initial assessment may include:

  • Parent/carer questionnaire & interview
  • Child observation & task analysis of functional skills

04 · OUR CORE APPROACH

DIR Floortime®, a play-based approach

A holistic, developmental and relationship-based approach that forms the foundation of all our therapy. It supports children to become regulated, intentional and logical thinkers, through play.

A personalised approach integrating all developmental areas, social, emotional, motor, sensory, language and cognitive, plus family relationships.
Play-based therapy and sensory-motor techniques as the foundation for developing functional skills.
Strong early foundations, engaging with others, social reciprocity and purposeful communication, to support later problem-solving and sense of self.
Children driven by internal motivation through natural interactions with caregivers, rather than a reward system. Parents are the most integral part.

05 · FEEDING THERAPY

SOS® Approach to Feeding

An evidence-based feeding program with 30 years of clinical experience, helping children learn the skills they need to eat well. It's beneficial for children who:

  • Tolerate only a restricted range of foods
  • Refuse entire categories of food texture or nutrition groups
  • Have to eat a different meal from the rest of the family
  • Are underweight or at risk due to limited intake
  • Find mealtimes distressing

Suitable for infants, children and adolescents, with or without a developmental delay or disability.
